spricht Herr Dr. Björn Corzilius (Biomolekulares Magnetresonanz-Zentrum -BMRZ- der Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe-Universität Frankfurt) Wislicenus-Hörsaal, Johannisallee 29, Neubau Chemie zum Thema:

″Dynamic nuclear polarization using endogenous metalions for sensitivity-enhanced NMR of biomolecules″

Abstract:

Dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) transfers the significantly larger spin 

persistent radicals, paramagnetic metal complexes of Mn(II) and Gd(III) are of particular

interest due to their electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectral properties and

possibility to be incorporated within biomolecules.

Such endogenous paramagnetic ions within biomolecules or doped materials can be used

for intramolecular DNP, as will be shown in several examples of paramagnetic

biomolecules, including proteins and ribonucleic acids and demonstrate the successful

polarization transfer between the paramagnetic moiety and the nuclei of interest.
